X2 Football 2010 (updated with trailer)

With the world cup hot footing it towards our screens. Don’t be surprised to see an influx of footie games on the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad this summer.

[Updated with screens of the game in action]

X2 Games are just one of them, announcing that a follow up to their highly rated game X2 Football 2009 (we gave it a 4.5/5) is in the latter stages of development.

Commenting on the announcement, Charles Chapman, Technical Director, Said “we were always confident that X2 Football 2009 would be successful, our entire development team are football fans and this, in turn, lead to the creation of a game that met with world-wide acclaim. But we never, ever want to rest on our laurels.” He continued “We’ve taken on board a lot of feedback from users and have rewritten large parts of the game from the ground up as well as adding more features. Our aim is to ensure that X2 Football 2010 continues in the same tradition that its predecessor set upon first release.”

Des Gayle, Producer, added “with X2 Football 2010 our fans will have to play smarter against improved AI, they will be able to play faster with our 3GS optimizations and they can play more with club teams, online multiplayer, and the all new ‘Dream Team’ mode.”

Update 2: We have received more info on this Dream Team mode. Whilst playing the Dream Team mode, users must use all of their footballing acumen to create their very own dream team. Starting out with an initial draft of players, poor in overall ability, you will compete in the multiplayer, tournament and quick match modes for tokens. You can then “spend” these tokens to scout for quality players from across the globe to help reinforce their squad and build the ultimate Dream Team.

Further Key features include:

•    Play More: With over 150 club teams, 30 competitions and the all new “Dream Team” mode.
•    Play Anywhere: Connect with friend or foe over Bluetooth, Wi-Fi or online!
•    Play Faster: With refined controls and 3GS optimizations
•    Play Smarter: Against enhanced defensive and attacking player AI.

Update 3: X2 games have released a new trailer, check it out!

I heard briefly after X2 Football 2010 was put on iTunes App Store, it was removed because X2 company want to increase the pricing. Is this allowed?
