We’ve covered Warpack Grunts quite a bit recently. Well, now the game is out, at the bargain price of $0.99 (59p), and we’ve had some play time with it.
As you know I’ve compared it to the classic Cannon Fodder from what I’d seen previously, and now it’s in my hands I can confirm that it is pretty much a rip off of that game…. Now I don’t find this a bad thing, because it seems to have been done lovingly… it’s and incredibly fun game…just like Cannon fodder was before it… even the music sounds similar to the original game. The only thing it doesn’t seem to have in common is that you can’t split up your squad and take one or two of your troops off as scouts before making your attack… and the original game saw you in control of more and more troops as you pregressed. We’ll have a review up soon, but we did notice what seems to be a bug in the game that doesn’t save your progress, making you have to type in your name and go through the training each time you want to play, which of course sucks!
