Are we going to see a video maybe of Novas multiplayer today or just SP?

  • Mathew Dorson

    Hi,

Whereabouts (preferably minute) do you guys talk about Battlefield? I’d rather not wait an hour or so to hear the bit I’d like to know about. :P

    Cheers,
    Mat.

Alright, I love my retina display apps, but I have a few questions about the quality and stuff

The non retina supported app icons seem fuzzy and pixelated on the iPhone screen. Is this normal?

Also, while the graphics on some games look great, the menus and other options don’t seem to be updated and are also pixelated. Take for example Jet Car Stunts. When playing, it’s very smooth and crisp, but the buttons, menus and other non playable things seems to be pixelated, again, is this normal?

  • Nigel Wood, UK

@Austin. I think the fuzzy icons is purely due to the fact that the developer of that App hasn’t included the iPhone 4 resolution App icons, and so it defaults to the lower resolution ones… it’s quite normal :)

Same can be said for ingame graphics, with JCS they probably realised it would take too much time to recreate all the menu icons in high resolution, whereas the ingame action is geometry based which scales up to HD

  • Austin M.

Oh, okay, that makes sense. Hero of Sparta 2′s menus all have HD graphics but that;s probably becuase they built it up from scratch in a high resolution. I barely ever play any of my old games anyway and I have a lot of money to spend this Christmas on these!

    Battlefield: Bad Company 2
    N.O.V.A. 2
    Modern Combat 2: Black Pegasus
    Infinity Blade
    Starfront: Collision
    Asphalt 6
    Real Racing 2
    Galaxy on Fire 2
    Eternal Legacy
    Shadow Guardian

Starfront: Collision isn’t out until January

  • Austin M.

    @Nigel.

Yes, I know, but I’ll probably still have iTunes money left over in the coming months.
