Ted Baker Patent Leather Style Embossed Pouch- Women’s review

Hello Kitty has a bow, and she is kind of cute. At least that is what my three girls at how think, all dressed in Hello Kitty attire. Now that cuteness has been infused into a Ted Baker original design. The Patent Leather Embossed Pouch has a bow-pattern all over, and it is aimed at the female population. I personally think that the black version can be used by a hairy man as well, the red version on the other hand is all woman.

Patent leather gives a shiny almost plastic surface. It is strong, and can sustain quite a lot of abuse. It is also easy to stamp patterns into, and the cool bow pattern is embossed into the leather. The lining is made from soft thin satin fabric. The black pouch has a cool cube pattern lining, and the red pouch has a classic flower pattern. The execution on the pouch is quite good, with just one or two visible loose thread ends.

The Patent Leather Embossed Pouch is a pull strap design. One tug on the strap extracts almost half of the iPhone 4. The pull strap is made from fabric, and has a metal plate to grip to. The metal plate sits quite firmly on the strap. You can also shake the phone out using a single shake. Actually I found the pouch to be somewhat large, and not hugging the phone tightly enough. It won’t release the phone unless you apply some force to it though.

For protection this pouch is quite good. It protects all but the top of the phone. I would have liked to have two extra millimetres depth to the pouch to allow the entire iPhone to be inserted. When inside the pouch you only have access to the silent button, and headphone socket. Because the sides are stiff you can not access the volume controls through the leather. Not having cut-outs for the speakers is a notable aspect that can be both positive or negative. The lack of holes makes it hard to hear incoming calls, but at the same time it means that the entire bottom half of the phone is covered by the pouch.

The Ted Baker brand integration is quite good with a “T B” enamelled into the white bow sticking out of the front. The metal plate on the pull strap also bears the Ted Baker name.

This is a great looking pouch intended for women, but the black version is unisex in my opinion. It protects the iPhone 4 well, and has a great working pull strap design. The loose fit is the only complaint I have. If you like your leather shiny definitely consider getting the Patent Leather Style Embossed Pouch. And yes, I really think that the names need to be shorter for Ted Baker and Proporta cases/pouches.
