TAG games creates new gaming arm TAGplay to concentrate on self published titles…
The Scottish based games studio, home of ‘Car Jack Streets’, ‘Astro Ranch’ and ‘Dr Who: The Mazes of Time’ have created a new gaming arm of their company to better differentiate between their commission based work, which will continue under the ‘Tag Games’ brand, and their own original IP’s, such as the upcoming Car Jack Streets 2.
The first game to appear under the new TAGplay name is the freemium social sim ‘Funpark Friends’, which is due for release in the next few months.
The game will allow you to create and customise extensive theme parks which other players can then innovatively interact with. Due for a 2011 Q3 release, this game will highlight the quality and social innovation of the new Tagplay brand and will mark the studio’s transition from developing under the one-time-purchase model to the freemium model.
Does this mean Car jack Streets 2 will be a freemium title too? Well, we just don’t know the answer to that yet.
