Check out our hands-on video of Skirmish mode in Gameloft’s RTS, releasing later this week…
As you no doubt already know, Gameloft will release Starfront Collision – their answer to the RTS – this thursday (10th February) [UPDATE: Delayed until the 18th February]. Like Sacred Odyssey before it, the game will be free to ‘try-before-you-buy’ download.
The video below shows some hands-on time we had with the game at Gameloft’s HQ. It shows 5 minutes of gameplay in ‘Skirmish mode’, a quick play mode separate from the full single player campaign. We only got to play one map, in this case the Frozen Wasteland, but you’ll get an idea for what the game offers, including building installations such as weapons factories, garrisons and armaments to grow and support your army, before marching off into the wilderness in search of the enemy. In our hands-on, the the touch interface felt fast and responsive, a good thing too, with so much of the RTS genre heavily reliant on quick thinking. Sadly, I got pwned by the AI!
Our very own Matt Dunn, a veteran of Starcraft, will have the review up soon after release, in the meantime check out the video below.
