Roxy Hard Shell Case iPod Touch 4G review

Roxy is a lifestyle brand catering to adventurous women worldwide. It was born from Quiksilver more than twenty years ago, and in 2011 it is stronger than ever. The initial focus on clothes, and swimwear has branched out and even reached the iOS devices. A line of hard shells, and silicone cases for the iPhone 4 and iPod Touch 4G has been released. Teaming up with well-established case manufacturer Proporta means that quality is high, and a clear distribution system is in place.

img_3209The Roxy Hard Shell is a bare bones back cover design. Made from a single piece of strong polycarbonate it is made to withstand hard knocks. Basically that is all it provides beside the pretty floral patterns. It does add a bit of bulk compared to the naked iPod Touch. To me that means it is somewhat easier to hold it when playing games. For grip the Hard Shell doesn’t add anything as it is about as slippery as the back of the iPod. All functions are working well within the shell.

The floral pattern is ok, but I would have like to have a wow factor to it. Something popping out of the pattern, or some structure to the surface. It doesn’t feel empowering, and to some extent it is supposed to in my opinion.

The Roxy Hard Shell is a good back cover protection for the iPod Touch. If you like the pattern you can’t really go wrong. I would not call it a must buy by a long shot, and think that more could have been done with an exciting brand such as Roxy.
