pq-logoOk, so anyone who listens to the podcast knows that I am the most giant PuzzleQuest fan on the Internet. Well it’s happened, PuzzleQuest is here, and I absolutely can not wait to play it. I don’t have a press release or anything, so if you click read on you will get to see me gush about why PuzzleQuest is the best game ever.

So PuzzleQuest rules and here’s why, it’s like a super hybrid of two genres, one that’s cool, being the RPG side, and one that’s played out, that being match three. When they combine they become the complete synergy of gaming goodness. If you like video games, you will like PuzzleQuest, there is no other option, I’m going to review the game of course because it’s my job, but it doesn’t matter because it’s the best game ever, I’ll call it right now, you have to buy it. If you don’t we aren’t friends. No, but all joking aside, I really love PuzzleQuest, and I haven’t been this hyped on a game in a long, time and I really hope it lives up to it, because on a hype level of 1 to 10, I’m at a 467. PuzzleQuest: Chapter 1 - Battle of Gruulker is available now for $9.99. Look for a hands on soon!

Will I like it if I didn’t like Aurora feint? Honestly, I had a hard time figuring out what to do in Aurora feint, will it be the same for this game? (They sound very similar)

Yes, this game is lot more linear and has a lot more dierection that AF. AF is a great game, (in fact it’s game of the year for us.) However, PuzzleQuest is a different game, I’ll have impressions up later today to let you know how it compares to other platforms it is on. (I need to get soem WI-FI so I can download it.)

Yeah that’d be great Dave. Maybe a more in depth comparison to AF. I love Final Fantasy and some other RPGs, but will I like PQ? I remember the card game in FFVIII (I liked it much better than the on in FFIX), but it was mostly a side thing. It had some effects in the game, but it was not integral like PQ sounds with it’s match three stuff.

THIS is THE game you wanted for Christmas, isn’t it!?

Pintos, this is THE game everyone should want for the holidays. HOWEVER, and this is a big however, they are dividing the game up into 3 chunks, so in the end it’s going to cost 30 bucks, and that makes me mad, but thats what it costs on the DS and that doesn’t include the additonal expansion pack, so it’s not as bad as it sounds.

I have to say, I had this on the DS when it first came out, and I had a VERY hard time putting it down… It’s just fun as hell, and I don’t know why…those are the best kind of games.

Good luck reading the typeface. :(

Sounds intriguing…and yeah I’ve seen screenshots elsewhere and some type looked too small, but it’s really hard to tell. Can’t imagine it’d be too small to read.

  9. Alan on Tue, 23rd Dec 2008 7:59 pm

Um, it is. Way too small if you don’t know the game (I have not). If you know the game well, it may not be a problem. I got a refund and will re-purchase if/when they do an update with a more readable font.

A big diasappointment. It is blurry and runs slow. The text is so small it gives me a headache trying to read it. Any update other than completely new code would be a waste. How to you get a refund?

    Kevin -
