Herocraft have released video of their upcoming Wipeout style game. Called Protoxide Racing the game features five different ships which you can rrace across four different worlds, which comprise of four tracks each, totalling 16. As with Wipeout and other futuristic racers, you can fit your ships with various weapons to take out the competition. As well as a career mode, you can take part in quick races, as well as WiFi multiplayer (fingers crossed for online eventually). Controls allow for both tilt and swipe steering.

Check out the early prototype video of the game in action. While it does look a little rough around the edges, it certainly shows promise for delivering high speed thrills.

Just saw this randomly and I’m impressed! It would be cool if the high-speed you go at with the power-up didn’t require a power-up, if you could go at a high speed without that normally, but even so, I don’t think it’s “rough around the edges” at all. Nice job to the devs.

Kind of stupid to run through some strange ruin stuff with a futuristic glider. So, the style is really not my thing. But I will try the game, since all the other games like this are far from fantastic.

I think it’s supposed to be some kind of post-apocalyptic city ruin, which would make sense.
