Popcap, the creators of the Peggle series, have alluded to the fact that they will be bringing their latest hit franchise for the PC to iPhone. Plants Vs Zombies is a tower defence style game where you must defend your home from a horde of attacking zombies, using only plants as weapons. It’s a strange premise that sees you frantically and stategically planting the right seeds on your front lawn to combat the oncoming threat.
Originally, in an interview with casualgaming.biz, PopCap admitted to not having confirmed plans to bring the game to iPhone, but said that they should “have our games in as many different places, and on as many platforms, as possible”. However, on IGN.com PopCap’s Senior Public Relations Director, Garth Chouteau described the problem of the games need for rapid clicking on a console controller, saying “I think with the iPhone the ability to do that with your finger potentially overcomes that”. So, that’s more than once that the iPhone has come up in conversation, and with Peggle doing well on iPhone, it’s certainly looking likely that Plants Vs Zombies isn’t so much of an ‘if’ but ‘when’ it will come to iPhone. Stay tuned.
