Fun web have released VyFight, a new 3D shooter which looks set on knocking Rebel Onslaught off it’s perch as the best 3D shooter on the iPhone.
Apart from it’s less than inspiring name, the graphics look pretty good and reminds me of the Star Wars: Rogue Squadron a bit, with plenty of varied environments, enemies and even story-based cut scenes. You can choose from 6 different craft and must battle through various environments and front up against large bosses.
Flight is controlled using tilt, with acceleration controlled with an on screen slider. The developer describes the shooting button as tactile, which I don’t quite understand… this must be the usual onscreen button too!
