Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit coming soon (updated)

EA’s Need for Speed: Hot Pursuit is coming soon to iPhone and iPod Touch…

Originally posted on October 5th: One of the cooler titles unveiled at EA’s E3 press conference this year was a reboot of Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit for consoles. Due out in November on Xbox and PS3, the game takes the Need For Speed license back to its roots, putting you in fast cars as you attempt to out pace the cops on your tail. Hot Pursuit adds in online multiplayer similar to Test Drive unlimited that sees you challenging online players to head-to-head face offs where one of you takes the roll of the cops. Of course these are not regular cop cars, think instead a black and white Bugatti Veyron with flashing blue lights and you get the picture!

Much like Shift it looks like EA will be bringing a stripped down version of the game to iPhone, though no firm details or screenshots have been released yet. Stay tuned for more details and lets hope it feature full online play. In the meantime check out the official trailer here.

Updated with screens: Here are a selection of screens for the game. Any game that has you dishing out the law from the the bucket seat of a Lamborghini has my vote!

Wait a sec. Is this the original Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit, or is it a revamped version of the original? This sure looks like a new one from the way of the trailer. Oh, and EA, if you ever visit TouchGen, please read my wish list comment.

My Wish List for Need For Speed: Hot Pursuit:

•No more on rails, give us a gas pedal instead of auto acceleration.

•More cars, you only had like 20 last time.

•Amazing retina graphics. They already looked awesome on the 3G and 3GS, make them look amazing in the iPhone 4!

    •More tracks, enough said.

•Better music, I thought Shift’s music was horrible.

    It’s a reboot

What I want in this game is free roam! I NEED THIS to make my experience better also I was never the graphics type so graphics don’t matter it the GAMEPLAY!

    Dont screw it up EA!
