Mini Motor Racing out now

Mini Motor Racing, by the The Binary Mill, is out now for iPhone, iPad and iPod Touch. Playing like an updated hyrbrid of the classic Super Sprint and Micro-Machines, the game boasts 4 different default vehicle types (sports, hatch, big-rig and pick-up) which are fully upgradeable. There is a good selection of tracks to play through, with different weather types, as well as being playable during both day and night, as well as in reverse. The game also includes exclusive themed tracks. There’s a Fruit Ninja set of themed tracks and cars, in partnership with Halfbrick Studios, plus a second one which is a christmas themed cup where you can take to the roads as even Santa himself in his sleigh!

For devices running iOS 5, all race data gets stored online through iCloud – racing stats, race circuit progress status, unlocks, achievements, and best lap times. You’ll be able to play it on any device with the game installed, picking up and playing from where ever you last left off. Multi-player racing is limited to local play only, though full online play will be coming, but was not quite ready in time for launch.

“Our team has really packed a lot into this game, with exceptional polish,” relays The Binary Mill Studio Director Ingmar Lak. “The game includes a super-accessible pick-up-and-play mode for quick races, along with a fairly deep and extensible career mode for more serious gamers. All in all, a very inviting, colorful and fun package.”

We’ve been playing it for a few weeks now (review coming soon), and like previous hands-ons at GDC, we fell in love with the crisp, colorful, high resolution 3D visuals and easy to grasp controls. The game is out now for $1.99 for iPhone and $3.99 for the HD iPad version.
