EA have released details and first screens of Madden NFL 10 for iPhone… and we’ve got the skinny! With a rather bold “ACCEPT NO IMITATIONS” statement, they seem to be throwing down the gauntlet to any other american football games either coming or already out for iPhone (such as Gamelofts NFL 2010) by saying that “only EA SPORTS delivers the most authentic, hard-hitting experience in football, and we’ve got the history to back it up.” Well that is true, the Madden franchise is easily the most successful sports video game out there.
The iPhone edition promises realistic action as well as giving you access to your favourite players from all the 32 licensed teams. Graphically it offer a full 3d experience with detailed player models and authentic stadiums. For control you draw your passing plays much like the Wii edition, but using your touchscreen. Add to this a contorl time feature, which allows you to play at the speed that suits you best, assemble your own dream teams, and the unmistakeable voice of Madden himslef, and it looks like this could be a killer app for gaming on the iPhone.
No concrete details have emerged on the release of the game, just a the statement that it is “about” to hit the appstore. [UPDATE] We are hearing whispers of early September from a source at EA.
