Frontier delivers its first update to LostWinds for iOS – adds a D-pad option…
We gave LostWinds a 4.5/5 back in December, 2011, stating that “Its blend of beautiful graphics and sound, compelling platforming, challenging puzzles and of course the intuitive one-finger controls, makes it one not to miss.” We even awarded it Platformer of the year!.
We’ve noticed many other review sites and gamers alike complaining about the touch controls. But to be honest we never had a single problem with them. However, Frontier has listened to the naysayers and added a D-pad option to control Toku’s direction.
In addition, Frontier have added ‘Gust-Time’ – a short, slow-motion sequence at the top of Toku’s motion on each gust, that allows players a customisable amount of time to line up the next gust. Minor level design tweaks and a fix for a rare crash bug are also included in the update, as well as Japanese and Simplified Chinese language support.
