The iPhone gaming industry was abuzz today over a rumour that Apple are planning a premium games section on the AppStore. Pocket Gamer.biz reported the rumour earlier today, stating that Apple may plan to sell premium games for iPhone at a $19.99 price tag. However, they go on to say that this will be restricted to larger publishers only.
We think this is a step in the right direction for the iPhone as a games platform. With many high profile titles lost forever in the AppStore under all the match 3’s and fart machines!
So have Apple been listening? We’ve certainly been moaning on the subject on our podcast for sometime. We like to think that during Steve’s recovery, he likes nothing more than to pop in his headphones, put his feet up and listen to Dave LeClair rant on about PuzzleQuest for an hour and a half. Don’t we all?

If it’s done right this could be great, but if people just start coming out with premium fart machines I’m going to be pissed… real pissed.

So does this mean we can expect some type of control attachment for the iPhone??

Sounds great.
I really hope this happens. As browsing the app store for quality titles has become a real chore of late.
I’m drowning in farts where I should be swimming in games!
