Some great arcade shooters again this year, but for once not a CAVE bullet hell title in sight (come on CAVE!). Chillingo’s Storm the Train appealed to our Metal Slug fanboy-ism with imaginative enemies and a great sense of progression. But it is ultimately ARC Squadron that takes the prize with its strong Triple-A feel. The graphics, sound, controls, ramping difficulty, ship and weapons upgrades, and the awesome bosses makes for an addictive mix that’s hard to put down. Besides, Star Fox fanboy-ism trumps Metal Slug fanboy-ism any day!
