Get a grip!

UK gaming accessory maker Exspect have created a game grip for iPhone. The Gaming Grip is contoured to fit in the palm of your hand whilst still allowing full access to the touch screen. Made from high-grade silicone, Exspect states that it allows you to play any type of genre of game, safe in the knowledge that the device won’t fly out of your hands whilst fitting comfortably in your pocket.

I’m not sure I’d want to ruin the perfect form factor of my beloved iPhone with a gimp suit, but even I have felt anxious gripping it between my sweaty mitts on a scorching day in London. Playing for longer play sessions in games like Assasins Creed, can lead to cramping in your fingers, so something like the gaming grip may put a stop to that too.

The Gaming Grip should be available soon to UK gamers for £14.99 on Amazon. No word yet on international availability

Hm. Wonder what the temperature of the device says to this and if we will see the overheating-warning message while playing.

This would have been epic win had it had buttons, I get the feeling that it would cost me a pretty penny to ship stateside

I also never had the message. But playing Monkey Ball for hours last summer (Classic iPhone) resulted in a HOT device and my hands began sweating a lot. Putting this hot device inside a plastic case of course means, that it will get even hotter and that I don’t feel the heat. This way, I play longer, the device gets hotter and hotter etc. ;)

But we’ll have to see how this works out in reality. Maybe it has holes on the back.
