    • Gelaskins – Video Review

    After doing the video about ZAGG’s invisible shield I started looking for other skins that might fix the iPhone’s notorious signal problem. The first email I sent was to Gelaskins. As editors for TouchGen we get our greedy little hands on lots of  stuff for the iPhone. Between my 3G, and 3GS I have had the chance to try a lot of products, but I have enjoyed none of them as much as I have enjoyed my Gelaskins.

    Unlike ZAGG’s shield, Gelaskins does cover the “problem area” and so it was worth trying out. Also they look completely amazing. In the video I take you on a tour of my skin and talk about the pro’s and cons.

    In case you were wondering I shot the video of my iPhone 4 with an iPhone 4. I used the front facing camera for the intro, which is why the lower quality.

      I’m curious to hear your thoughts about Clear Coat. They may not be as stylish, but I’ve been using one with the Apple bumper and my signal quality has been optimal.

      Just got my own and have to agree, these things rock! Super fast shipping and a very nice website, and a custom skin for 15 bucks! Only bummer is as of now there is no screen protector included.

      I emailed clear coat and asked them for a sample for review, they did not respond to my requests.

      Apparently the signal problem is the fault of AT&T, because T-Mobile customers havent been experiencing it.
      But i dont really know for certain.

      Hey, Nacho. I too like my phone naked but a back and side GelaSkin would look really cool with a translucent gel case.

      It does look cool. I had the clear case, for about a day before I went back to just the skin along the back. I’m thinking now of ordering two or three more. You are able to peel them off and re-stick without too much trouble.

      Do the Gelaskins cover the screen and protect it too?

      Also, I’m going to get the ultra thin SGP Neo Hybrid when it’s available to ship. It’s a super thin form fitting silicone case with a matte steel band that you apply, it’s an awesome hybrid and makes it look like a naked iPhone.
