The devs behind Fruit Ninja know how to make addictive games.
Despite it being around two month from launch, HalfBrick’s new title, Machine Gun Jetpack”, was a blast. I didn’t want to put it down! I’m not usually a fan of the “go as far as you can till you die” genre of games, but between the fantastic arcade visuals, cool powerups, and slot machine at the end, I was hooked already.
The game stars Halfbrick’s returning star, Barry Steakfries, which makes me kinda hungry… Anyways, the game has a very simple, one-button control scheme: tap anywhere on the screen to jetpack up. You automatically move forward at increasing speeds, and you drop slowly if you remove your finger from the screen. There are various enemies and powerup suits, including a sweet mech and a crazy teleportation ability. During the level you collect coins that are spent on a slot machine after you die. You can get point bonuses, second chances, and other items through this. A nice touch to an already-great game.
