The CEO of BulkyPix sat down with us and showed us a ton of games! Some were just released, but most of them are coming out in the next few months. We are dividing these into two different posts. Keep in mind that there will be a giveaway for both Maestro Green Groove and My First Game this Friday!

My First Game
Release Date: March 12th
While we’ve had the “kids” game section on this site for a while, there haven’t been many games submitted to us that fit the bill. My First Game is tailored to kids ages 3-6 and features a plethora of learning games. Counting, matching animals, listening to animal sounds, placing shapes, and many other mini games are all guided by a cute animated character who speaks instructions and info to your toddlers. Giveaway this Friday!
Undead: The Last Refuge
Release Date: April
To quote the CEO, Vincent Dondaine, “Now Call of Duty: Zombies has a competitor!” A competitor indeed, as even an early build of Undead looks to be quite good. Although the environments were lacking (of course, this was an early build) the zombie models were very high-res, with visible damage from shooting them. The controls were a bit odd, due to shoot being on the left of the screen over the joystick, but I’m assuming this is just one version. Either way, the action was extremely smooth, and felt better than CoDZ. The dev showed us an engine demo that rendered 30 zombies on the screen at once with absolutely no loss in framerate! He said the game would start off single player only, but they have plans for multiplayer later on.
Last King of Africa
Release Date: April, May, June (episodes)
From what we saw, the Last King of Africa looks to be a solid Myst-styled adventure game that will be released in 3 episodes – one a month starting in April. It will be a mix of puzzles and mini games, and is designed with a “casual learning curve” for those that aren’t used to this style of this game. The screens look impressive, but we weren’t able to see it in action. It will be priced at $2.99.
Yslandia
Release Date: Q2, spring release
There has been a lot of talk about MMOs on the iPhone, but not much actual product. Yslandia is going to be a sprite-based MMO RPG in the truest sense of the genre. We didn’t get to play any combat, but everything looks pretty standard, with clean sprite graphics and built-in chat for other players. The plans are to hold up to 3,000 players per server, so there should be plenty of human interaction when this is released! The game will launch with around 60 quests to keep you busy, with new content made available later.
Twin Blade & Babel Rising Updates
We didn’t get a ton of info on these, but both Twin Blades and Babel Rising (currently released) will be getting very large content updates very soon. So if you own one these games, or plan on buying them, keep an eye out!
