Today at Apple’s Keynote at WWDC, Gameloft announced Asphalt 5, the sequel to their successful racing series. We reviewed Asphalt 4 here.
According to Gameloft’s Mark Hickey, Asphalt 5 will better all racing games on iPhone before it. By pushing the the hardware with great lighting and graphics, offering peer to peer multiplayer over bluetooth, and worldwide multiplayer over wifi, it will also include in-game chat and allow you to play your own music while you drive.
Using in-game purchasing of the iPhone OS 3.0 tech, you will be able to buy game packs for $0.99, consisting of one new track and three new cars. Let’s hope the game comes with a good selection by default and doesn’t heavily rely on requiring you to buy new tracks!
