Review by Dave LeClair
So for the all the fishing fans out there here comes my review of Flick Fishing, which is currently one of the more popular games on app store, and there’s definitely some good things about it, so I can kind of see why. However, there’s a few things about the game that just don’t grab me, read on to see why.
So let me start with the good, the game looks great, extremely nice water effects and very pretty. Also the controls work well, however, that leads into my first issue with the game; and that is that it is incredibly simple. You do not have to manipulate the lure at all, you just cast it out and let it sit and fish bites almost every time. Overall, it just feels like you are rolling some dice, and depending on what number you get, it will determine what kind, and how big the the fish you catch is. There’s also just not a lot to do. There’s a few different locations you can fish at, but in the end with how basic the game is, they all feel the same. The tournaments in the game just feel like a luck of the draw thing as well. It just doesn’t really feel like a game to me.
Presentation & Graphics:
The one saving quality of this game is that it looks amazing. They clearly spent a ton of time making the graphics look as polished as possible, from every detail right down to the menu system. It just looks pretty.
Sound:
Mediocre. It sounds fine but nothing special.
Gameplay:

There just isn’t much to do, and what there is simply feels like a roll of the dice. Your real fishing knowledge will have no relevance to rather or not you catch a fish. The controls do work well, but the game just isn’t fun to play.
Game life:
Again, not a lot to do here and no real skill to speak of. For a little kid maybe this would be fun, but for anyone looking for a deep fishing experience look elsewhere.
Game rating:

Overall, the great graphics are nice and all, but they aren’t enough to make up for the fact that game is just boring, and lacks the need of any skill.
