FIFA 12 coming September 29

This week will see the release of FIFA 12, alongside its console-based cousins…

As well as Origin support and the usual updates to the real teams and players, the game includes a special two player mode that allows you to connect two iPhones or iPod Touch’s to an iPad for head-to-head gaming on one screen. We caught a demo of it, both at E3 and at an EA event this year, and came away impressed with the concept. EA are releasing the game for both iPad and iPhone separately. Thankfully though you you will not need to buy both to make use of the iPhone as controllers. Instead, EA are releasing the EA Sports Gamepad app, which you simply load it on the iPhones that you want to use as remote controllers. Other modes include: a daily challenge which places you in certain scenarios mid-game; Manager mode where you can become your very own Alex Ferguson and take your team up the ranks to glory; as well as the usual quick play mode which includes friendlies, practice and penalty shootouts.

Look out for our review of the game in the coming days, as well as impressions on the iPad/iPhone two player mode. In the meantime here are some of screenshots from the iPad version.
