Espgaluda 2 – manic arcade shooter for iPhone

Cave, a Tokyo-based games developer will be releasing their shooter Espgaluda 2 on iPhone this weekend…

Espgaluda 2 is the sequel to CAVE’s well-known arcade shooter Espgaluda which was released only in Japan. Set in a fantasy world, the game and its distinct cast of characters have been thrilling Japanese gamers on PS2 and mobile since 2003.

Previously released in a special edition on Xbox 360, the game allows players to slow down enemy bullets and transform them all into explosions of gold, it has earned critical acclaim for its accessibility to new players not usually accustomed to the otherwise hardcore aracde shooter.

The Xbox 360 release of “Espgaluda 2: Black Label”, which includes remixed versions of the arcade game, built on this popularity and has garnered acclaim by fans domestically.  Now this console shooter can now be played on the iPhone and iPod touch, including a full English translation

The game will retail for $8.99, but will be on introductory price of $4.99 on launch, so if you are an arcade shooter fan then you might want to get in early. A lite version of the game will also be available to try before you plonk down the high price tag.
