[UPDATED with trailer] Those fine folks at EPIC sent us details today of their upcoming Action RPG due out this holiday season (that’s Christmas to us UK’ers)…
Originally posted on Nov 2nd – Co-developed by ChAIR Entertainment, Infinity Blade utilises the power of Unreal Engine 3 for iOS and is the full game based on the ‘Project Sword’ demo that Epic previewed at Apple’s media event in September.
According to Epic, it takes hand-held gaming to dizzying heights and features adrenaline-fueled sword battles and epic boss fights set within the 3D castle environment, last seen in the Epic Citadel demo on iPhone and iPad. The single-player mode promises an intuitive combat interface and simple touch controls for the hardcore, as well as appealing to casual gamers. You’ll be able to power up your character’s xp stats and unlock new items to build up to the final showdown with ‘The God-King’, the game’s main bad guy.
Dr. Michael Capps, president of Epic Games says.“More than one million people have been introduced to the world of ‘Infinity Blade’ through our free app, ‘Epic Citadel,’ and soon everyone will be able to play our first fully featured game for iOS devices. With ‘Infinity Blade,’ ChAIR has created an amazing looking, incredibly fun game that really demonstrates the potential of triple-A mobile gaming.”
Epic will release bonus content as free DLC, including a full online multi-player mode over Gamecenter… again teased at Apple’s event two months ago.
Look out for more info on pricing and the official release date. And in the meantime check out these new screenies, and you can watch a snippet of footage in Apple’s new ‘Electric’ iPad advert here:
