The Voxel Agents are bringing the train madness to America in this sequel!
One of the highlights of GDC was randomly running into Simon from The Voxel Agents at an iPhone mixer. The Aussie native gave us a hands on with several USA-themed levels for the original Train Conductor. We were quite impressed with the polish on the game, and it seemed like something one could easily get sucked into. Since then, they have taken the USA levels to form an entirely new game: Train Conductor: USA.
While the original game takes place in Australia, Train Conductor: USA features 5 levels in New York, Nashville, Miami Beach, Las Vegas, and the Grand Canyon. Two of these levels take place at night, meaning they involve ghosts and ghost trains. The object of each level varies quite a bit. In fact, rather than five different “levels”, 5 different game modes would probably be a more accurate description.s
The new game has all the graphic charm of the original, with new songs for each different mode of play. The developer stated that they plan to release more frequent updates to TC:USA, as they have tons of ideas for different levels and styles of play to keep things fresh. The first set of updates after the game is released will be a global leaderboard and in-game achievements.
Train Conductor: USA will be out at the end of this month, and I’m looking forward to getting my hands on a final build. It looks just as fantastic as the original, and looks be just as addicting as well.
