The third game in Gamelofts lineup showed to us today was DJ Mix Tour. This is a rhythm game along the same lines of Guitar Hero and Gamloft’s own Guitar Rock Tour. Except in this game, as the name suggests, you play as a DJ and must keep the dancers on the dancefloor entertained. In usual music game fair you must tap the notes as they come into view, except this time you are tapping the spinning vinyl itself.
The game features 16 licensed hits including Matt’s favourite ‘Poker Face’ as well as Just Dance, Womanizer, Get The Party Started, Open Your Heart, Four to The Floor, and Cry for you. 3 of these tracks were original masters with the remaining as covers.. Our music games master Dave hit the decks, and even though he found the easy mode a touch un-damanding of his skills, the hard difficulties proved more of a challenge. Unlike Tap Tap, if you miss a note it effects the notes in a guitar hero style, which we think was a nice touch and makes it feel more realistic.
The game should be hitting this month at $5.99 which seems to be Gameloft’s magic price point right now. While you wait to become a budding DJ, check out the screens and Video of the game in action below. As we say in the UK “Having it large!”
