DoDonPachi ‘Blissful Death’ out this week

The prequel to DoDonPachi Ressurection is coming iPhone and iPod Touch 10 years after it was released for arcades…

D0-DON-PACHI Dai Ou Jou, or DoDonPachi Blissful Death will hit the appstore this Thursday, Feburary 9, 2012 for $4.99.

Another installment of CAVE’s famed shooters, the game sees you take to the bullet hell filled skies of as an Element Doll, a fighter robot that pilots high powered attack ships. The enemy is an army of sentient machines, empowered with strategic consciousness… Meaning? They fire a shit-load of bullets at you!

The game was originally released to arcades in 2002, and as well as the usual bullet hell intensity, it also featured a hyper system, allowing you to unleash a highly powered beam destroying everything in its path. Like other CAVE shooters, it has been given the iPhone and iPod Touch treatment complete with auto fire and one touch controls. Unlike other ports though, it does not feature a Smart Phone mode (usually easier with unlimited continues), and instead only comes in its original arcade flavour. However, it does include novice, normal and hard modes for those who can’t handle hell!

To celebrate the launch, Ressurection will be on sale with 30% off its original price until February 12th.
