Gameloft have announced that since 2003 they have sold a whopping 200 million games. As well as publishing games for the big three over Xbox live, WiiWare and Playstation network, they also publish for over 1,200 mobile devices. Of course, there is one mobile device that has been particularly lucrative for them, and that is the iPhone. In fact according to Gameloft, the AppStore has become their biggest sales outlet in 2008 and on into 2009, eclipsing that of any other mobile operators.
Michel Guillemot, Gameloft’s President attributes this success to the consumers thirst for the best games, on any platform:”They [the consumers] also want immediate access at the lowest cost. We channel our creativity and our determination into creating entertainment that corresponds to their expectations and their need for diversion. That includes adapting it to their lifestyle and their budget. These are the reasons they buy our games in such great numbers.”
With popular and critically acclaimed games such as Hero of Sparta, Real Football ’09 and Brothers in arms, Gameloft are certainly bringing some quality to our beloved jesus phone… lets hope this continues!
