EA have released Command & Conquer:Red alert for iPhone and iPod Touch…
So far it’s only available in the UK for £5.99 as well as Europe, and other parts of the world such as New Zealand. Look out for a US release anytime now.
We got hands on with the game back at E3 here and were surprised how well it converted over to the smaller screen, and more importantly the touch controls. Look for our final thoughts on the game on release, but in the meantime time check out some new screens and details below:
The Cold War is hot again with COMMAND & CONQUER RED ALERT for iPhone® and iPod touch®.
Experience real-time COMMAND & CONQUER strategy as the Soviet or Ally factions. Control the battlefield with touch-screen power in up to 12 combat levels. Red alert was the first PC game I couldn’t put down. I pray this will be good and that my iPhone will serve as my portal in time back to memories of old.

Really? You guys are just gonna rob me of my free time like this? Fine. But I won’t enjoy it, well, maybe a little.

Multiplayer? PLEASE?

RA without multi in 2009 would just be stupid.
It’s not like it’s a fresh new inovative game nor the least bit creative to release a port this old.
So it better have multiplay because. Seriously. 12 levels of RA with no replay value just isn’t enoughfor old fans. Which will ne the majority of the buyers.

Same here, RA was the first PC & PS game I couldn’t stop playing - literally 8 hours a day as a kid. I was actually hoping just a few weeks ago that they would come out with an iphone version..and now that I know they are, I CAN’T WAIT.

I can only imagine the frustration that would ensue from attempting to play this with online multiplayer off of the iphone. Perhaps local multiplayer would work, actually… that would be awesome.

When Matt heard about this game being out on the podcast, it was a lot like this: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4pXfHLUlZf4
