Club Penguin “Puffle Launch” Coming to iOS

I guess you guys aren’t ready for that, yet. But your kids are gonna love it.”

If you’re a gamer without children (or a desire to play kids games), “Club Penguin” may sound more like a shady nighttime hot spot in Gotham City than an online gaming/social network that millions of kids use each day. If you are a parent, you are probably very familiar with the kid-friendly web-based MMO game that Disney has poured a huge amount of money and development into since it’s launch in 2005. If you had to fight to keep your iOS out of your kids hands before, you may as well just give in and hand it over. The first ever game from the Club Penguin library is coming to iOS devices on September 15th for 99 cents, and your kids are gonna love it.

According to the Disney Mobile, Puffle Launch, one of many online games in Club Penguin library, is played by more than 150,000 kids a day online. That’s a seriously massive player base, and one that Disney would be foolish not to capitalize on. They say that a “Puffle Pet” is adopted every second in the game, and that 20 million have been adopted so far in 2011. I don’t know what that means, but if you go ask your kid, I bet they’ll tell you all about it! The game will feature  expanded gameplay on a plethora of iOS devices, and players will be able to earn credits in the iOS game that will sync to their online accounts. Check out the (somewhat odd) gameplay trailer below
