Konami announced today that they are bringing the Castlevania franchise to iPhone and iPod Touch. However, before you get too excited, let me point out that this won’t be your usual sidescrolling action game. Instead, Konami have created a unique style of puzzle-RPG, a first for the series, allowing you to take on the role of Alucard, the son of Dracula. You’ll also have the option to play as, or against, characters directly from Castlevania: Symphony of the Night.
Entitled ‘Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night’, the game requires you to solve puzzles in order to gain weapons and spells to aid you in your quest. As you can see from the screenshots below, the game looks to closely resemble the Super Puzzle Fighter series. Look for Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night hitting the AppStore very soon.
