We get hands-on with the latest build of Namco’s Bit.Trip Beat, last shown to us at E3 this year…
At E3 this year, we got hands-on with Bit.Trip Beat (read our thoughts here). A title that surprised not only by its presence, but by its simple spin on the music/rhythm genre. At the time we only had a few minutes with the iPad edition but fell in love with the mix of modern Guitar Hero style rhythm and 8bit-retro pong paddle-style play. Last week we were sent a near complete build of the game, and were able to test out the multiplayer feature.
As you can see in the video below, Bit. Trip Beat features both local and online match ups, allowing you to host a game and have others join you in completing each level, while fighting for points. Local connection was a cinch to set up, and online uses Apple’s new gamecenter, though with this being a preview build of the game there were no players online.
Look out for our review later this week.
