Inspired by the old school racing cars the SlimLine Stripes brings a new spark to a classic design. As with all cases from beyzacases the leather is of fine quality, and all workmanship is top notch. This time around they also incorporate the brand quite well in the product.
The racing stripes give the pouch a young sporty feel. I like the fact that there are six different colour variations to choose from. Four of them have the same colour for the stripes, and two have two different colours. The one I have tried is the black with white stripes, and I associate the lines with the Cobra racing car. To me the lines make the pouch into something much more attractive than it would have been without them. Just turning the pouch upside down proves it, as the clean back is much less exciting. The front has the beyzacases bullhorn brand indented in the leather in the lower right corner. Centralized on the lower back the brand name is seen in small letters. Overall it is a good level of branding showcasing the name, and giving a hint of quality that goes with it.
For protection this pouch offers quite good overall coverage. The entire back, and front screens are covered inside the pouch. The sides are even better protected due to the leather extending outwards, and sewn together. Only the top is somewhat vulnerable to scratching, and impact damage if dropped top first. The lower portion that is open to provide easy access isn’t vulnerable to impacts, but rather to water and dirt. Overall though it provides the amount of protection you should demand from a leather pouch.
There is a weird fit issue showing as a strange crease, and shaping around the bottom opening. The rest of the pouch fits perfectly around the iPhone 4. The lining is soft, but still has enough friction to hold the iPhone inside even when you turn the pouch upside down. You can shake the phone out, but it takes some force. Extracting the phone by pushing from beneath is otherwise the better choice that is more practical, and safe.
Beyzacases is one of the best names in the leather industry, and they show it yet again with the SlimLine Stripes. Good protection, beautiful style and great quality materials combine into something easy to recommend. It is by no means a unique design, but it is done well. It comes highly recommended.
