Beyzacases ID Slim iPhone 4 case review

This case has converted me. Since my first iPhone I have been all about protecting it, and having a case on at all times. I have not fully understood the pouch type case that only protects the phone when worn inside. When you take the phone out it is completely naked, and open to all sorts of hazardous situations. Somehow the ID Slim managed not only to get me to take the protective hard-shell of choice off, but also made me want to explore the pouch design further. It feels like I have found the best already, but knowing the quality from manufacturers like Sena, Piel Frama, Proporta and Vaja I am eager to explore the segment.

bid1The ID Slim is a pouch made out of high quality leather with a beautiful shine to it. The lining is made from soft lining, and the phone always emerges smudge free and ready to go. The contrast stitches are spot-on, and extremely durable. I think it is very hard to wear this pouch out.

On the back of the case there is a slot for ID cards, and it manages to hold up to four credit/ID cards. Even with the maximum amount of cards inserted it is fairly easy to extract the phone. The wave shape of the case means that you get the left corner of the phone open to grip when taking it out. It works really well, and it is definitely one of the highlights of the design. Not only great looking, but practical for insertion/extaction as well.

For protection the ID Slim is quite good. Having the left corner of the phone unprotected is a concern to me. On the other hand the entire screen is protected while in the case, as is the camera on the back. The case is well-padded, and even more protective if you have a couple of ID cards in the slot.

bid2When inside the pouch you can still hear the ringer due to two sets of cut-outs at the bottom. You can also reach the silent button, and the headphone socket at the top of the phone. The mute switch is easy to use, and helps you finding the volume controls that also works fairly well. It is also possible to insert the iPhone upside down if you want to have it protected when you charge it.

Beyzacases has created an excellent pouch using excellent materials, top workmanship and a beautiful design. It comes highly recommended, and I award it an Editor’s Choice award. Now the challenge is on in the pouch category, with Beyzacases ID Slim as the starting champion.

Gotta agree, a pouch is the way forward. I bought the Saddleback leather pouch after hearing the recommendation on Touchgen, it’s fantastic and offers great protection as well as a killer smell.

I love my pouches and that’s a nice one, especially with the card slot. Shame they don’t make it for the 3GS. If you like pouches for the naked iPhone, I can highly recommend the Sena Corsa. Beautiful case.

By the way, according to Beyza’s website, the internal lining is velvet. Very nice.
