Gameloft announced today that BackStab, the title formerly exclusive for the Xperia PLAY, will be released on iPhone and iPad this Thursday June 23rd.
Set in the 18th Century Caribbean, BackStab is an action adventure title which follows the story of Henry Blake, a British Naval Officer who gets tied up in an intricate web of betrayal, and this is his tale of vengeance. Featuring an in-depth story campaign set across beautiful environments and sprawling cities, you control Henry Blake in a free roaming environment, which involves scaling walls and leaping off ledges.
We got hands-on with the game at E3, and were a little worried with a few bugs in both aniamtion and sound syncing, as well as some of the games general pacing. We doubt these have been ironed out since E3 (only two weeks ago), so we’ll have to see when we check out the game in its entirety whether these issues will affect the game overall.
