Craneballs show us their own take on the route management genre, made famous by Firemint’s ‘Flight Control’.

There seem to be a ton of these types of games right now, all vying for the success of Flight Control. Most seem to copy the game right down to the graphics, but at least Craneballs are treading a more original path. 33rd Division is a tactical game set in WW2, with the objective to escort allied soldiers to set areas on the map without the enemy patrols noticing them. To direct the troops you must draw lines from your soldier to the target location, he will follow the line exactly. Enemy guards are dooted throught the map, and you must stay out of their field of vision or else your soldier will lose his life. There are power-ups available en-route which can slow enemy movement or freeze an enemy entirely.

Check out the video below and look out for a hands-on from us soon. The game is still in development, with no firm release date as of yet.
