Like most magicians that perform at birthdays, HydroTilt XL brings all the bells and whistles but leaves the fun at home. Before I say anything else, let me pull out my “In My Opinion” shield so that I can adequately prepare myself for any dissent.
Supporters of this game will undoubtedly cite the proficient graphics, catchy [...]

Edimon is a clear descendant to the cult mega hit Tamagotchi back in the 1990s. You get a pet Edimon to care for in four different categories; fitness, wellness, play time and hygiene. The hub of the game is the home screen where Edimon stands around humming, and whistling when pleased. If you mistreat Edimon [...]

Boom Blox, for the Wii, is one of the best games of all times for any console ever according to me and my wife. It is easy to pick up, yet difficult to fully master. Seeing screenshots of Glass Tower immediately made me think of Boom Blox, and my mouth watered. Sadly the only thing [...]

Mecho Wars is based on the turn-based strategy formula established by the Advance Wars series on Nintendo’s portable consoles. In some aspects Oyaji Games has succeeded in refining, and adding new elements to keep it fresh. In other aspects I feel some key elements from the formula have gone missing.
Mecho Wars tells the story of [...]

Dam Buster is a game about busting dams. You get to pilot a British bomber trying to avoid incoming fire while collecting fuel to gain speed. Enemy fighters are also trying to ram you, and they will sadly succeed time after time. The scene is too zoomed in meaning you have very little room and [...]

I hate suduku, I frigging hate it. Putting numbers in rows and columns feels too much like work to be the least bit funny. So how the heck did I get myself hooked on KENKEN? According to my friend slurring in the tent next to me after downing a bottle of Jack Daniels it looked [...]

Stuart Carnie from Manomio shared news of his C64 emulator being submitted to Apple. Unfortunately, Apple did not approve the app. It’s adamn shame as far as we’re concerned, as it looks like Stuart has put a lot of love and effort into creating a great way of experiencing the often forgotten games of the C64, in a great retro styled package.

If there’s one thing the AppStore is not short of it’s unique games. Due in part to the relative ease of the SDK, there are too many games to mention that try something different. One way to ensure you have a unique game is to merge two gameplay genres together, and this is exactly what [...]

Developer Rough Cookie has taken their passion for bovine creatures in water to yet another game; Waterways. They created Dougie Moo’s Aqua Antics based around the same theme, and it was published by Chillingo. Now Taito stands as publisher to Waterways, sadly the inferior of the two swiming bovine water games. Why the developer of [...]

Namco Bandai are doing a lot of these remix games of late, and why shouldn’t they. Remixing and re-releasing you classic library can be very lucrative business. Some though, may argue that these games are sacred and should be left as they are. But I always think that who are we to stop a new [...]

Ever wonder what it’s like to jump from low altitude? Well, it’s probably not much like this game, but it sure would be thrilling, wouldn’t it? Not see Base Jumper is an absolutely horrible game, it’s just barely good enough to be passable.
You play as a customizable jumper, and your job is to fly through [...]

Ian Lynch Smith: Ha… well that question has lots of answers based on what your specific app or goal is. If I had list the one most important change in the last [...]

I preview Kachinko several months back, and was pleasantly surprised to see it was actually unique match-3 game. I know that term is somewhat of an oxymoron these days, but there are a few gems out there. Kachinko has some great production value, and is fun, if not frustrating to play.
In order to match the [...]

Those of you that listen to our podcast may remember me talking about the bogus copyright infringement case that pulled Edge from the app store a couple months back. It was pretty much completely BS, and I was quite worried to think that such a fantastic game wouldn’t see the light of day again. Luckily, the developer emailed today to inform me that the game is back in the US app store again!
