i-Play have released screens of their upcoming DJ game, Hip Hop All Star.
In it, you play as a DJ, scratching and spinning your way to stardom. The game features an original and exclusive playlist from 12 top-selling hip hop artists, mixing old-school with the new-school beats. Artists include: Busta Rhymes, Kid Cudi, Mya, Ray J, Greg Nice, Jason Nevins, Slim Thug, Kool G Rap, Unk, DJ Eclipse, DJ Serafin, DJ Eddie James, Ike Lees, Scarchild and DJ Green Lantern, host of Hip Hop Nation on Sirius Radio.
According to i-Play the game boasts breakthrough real-time scratching technology and flawless touch-screen controls. In a similar style to Tap Tap, players tap notes in rhythm with the music and scratch the turntables. You will be able to challenge friends to real-time DJ battles over WiFi and BlueTooth and use power ups to activate scratch tricks, to please the crowd and get more points. Much like Rock Band, if you tire of the supplied 12 songs, you will be able to download new tracks through in-game purchasing.
“Hip Hop All Star is the most authentic DJ’ing experience you can get in a game,” said DJ Green Lantern. “And be sure to check out the iPhone to iPhone DJ battles, and lay down a beat on your opponent anywhere, anytime.”
The game is scheduled for release on iPhone and iPod Touch later this month
